One of the brightest stars in the sky, Vega, was featured in the movie 'Contact' with Jodie Foster.
Our solar system and Vega are traveling toward each other at the fantastic speed of twelve miles per second but don't worry because we won't meet for over a million years.
Vega will become brighter and brighter over time.
You can find this special star by looking straight overhead when you go outside.
Vega is also part of the constellation Lyra.
In Greek mythology, Lyra was the magical lyre used to win the affections of your love interest. To find Lyra, locate Vega and move your gaze slightly to the south of the star where you will see a slanted rectangle. This symbolizes the constellation Lyra.
Nighttrek alert!
See the International Space Station (ISS) pass overhead on Friday, Sept. 10 at 8:57pm. Look Northwest.
